The Temple Police Department’s Traffic Unit issued 21 citations for seatbelt violations Wednesday afternoon outside Temple Mall.
Officials said the citations were given within an hour and a half.
In 2017, Temple experienced 16 accidents in which 18 people were ejected from the vehicle.
Injuries in many vehicle accidents could be lessened if the individuals involved had been wearing a seatbelt correctly, the department stated.
