TEMPLE, Texas — Cedric Marks was released from the Kent County Jail in Michigan Thursday morning to be extradited to Texas, according to Kent County Jail officials.
Marks, 44, is the ex-boyfriend of Jenna Scott, a Temple woman who was found dead on Jan. 15 with her friend Michael Swearingin in rural Oklahoma. The pair had been missing since Jan. 3.
Kent County jail officials said U.S. Prisoner Transportation Services picked up Marks to take him to Temple to face a burglary of a habitation charge related to an August incident in which he allegedly broke into Scott's home.
Court documents show Scott had filed a protection order against Marks but a judge dismissed that order in September, 2018.
Marks' extradition comes two days after Maya Maxwell was extradited from Muskegon County, Michigan on a charge related to Scott and Swearingin's disappearance.
Maxwell is charged with tampering with evidence after confessing to taking Swearingin's car to Austin in an attempt to hide it from law enforcement.
Marks' wife Ginell McDonough, who was charged with harboring a fugitive, is accused of allowing Marks and Maxwell to stay with her while they were wanted by law enforcement.
Marks has not been named as a suspect in the disappearances or deaths of Scott and Swearingin.
