Train hits parked car in Temple

An officer at the scene in Temple off of FM 93 said the car was parked near the tracks and got hit.

TEMPLE, Texas — The Temple Police Department responded to a call at around 9 p.m. about a crash between a car and a train.

An officer at the scene in Temple off of FM 93 said the car was parked near the tracks and got hit. The entire right side of the car was smashed, and its windows were shattered.

No one from the department has confirmed if there are any injuries at the scene yet.

Channel 6 reporter Cole Johnson was at the scene, and he said the smell of gasoline was strong in the air. Johnson also said he saw multiple police cars and officers blocking off the roads and searching the tracks.
