TEMPLE, Texas — Two people escaped a house fire Tuesday in Temple, the fire department said. The fire was reported at 4:42 p.m. at a home at 901 South 16th Street.
No injuries were reported. One person may be treated for minor smoke inhalation, the department said.
The first companies on the scene reported heavy smoke upon entry, the fire department said.
Spokesperson Thomas Pechal said the cause of the fire is undetermined. Fire investigators said it started in the front room of the home unintentionally.
The fire caused about $10,500 and is considered a total loss, Pechal said.
