UPDATE 2/15: Project has been pushed back to begin Feb. 23 due to expected weekend rain.
TxDOT will begin demolishing FM 935 Main Street bridge at 7 p.m. Friday, February 16 in Troy.
It will be closed for a week as crews work to fill in the space left by old I-35 under the new elevated section. TxDOT will also be installing new drainage structures.
Around February 23, a temporary road will take the place of the old bridge as crews work to expand FM 935 under the bridge to four lanes.
A temporary pedestrian walkway will also be put in place. TxDOT said the new bridge should be completed around the end of March.
In the meantime, drivers wanting to go west under I-35 will need to go north on the frontage road and cross at Windmill Lane. Drivers wanting to go east will need to drive south on the frontage road and cross at Love’s Boulevard. Drivers should plan to add at least four minutes to their commute.
