Visitation for former KCEN News talent, director Tony Hennes set for Wednesday

Hennes' visitation is set for Wednesday at the Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Temple from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

TEMPLE, Texas — Funeral arrangements are set for former KCEN News anchor, weatherman, and news director Tony Hennes, who passed away Feb. 11.

Hennes' visitation is set for Wednesday at the Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Temple from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

According to his obituary, Hennes was raised and lived the majority of his life in Temple.  

Hennes worked at KCEN for 30 years. When he retired from television, he moved on to work at the City of Temple and eventually became assistant city manager.

He led the way in the downtown development and was instrumental in the revitalization of the area around the train depot and railroad museum.

Hennes had recently announced his candidacy for Temple City Council.

In his obituary, it states that those closest to him say he was a kind, gentle, and jovial soul that will be greatly missed.

A graveside service will be held at the Bellwood Cemetery on Airport Road, Thursday at 2 p.m.
