Sierra Quintanilla, 23, is accused of making a false police report after she faked her own kidnapping to get revenge, police said.

WACO, Texas — According to police, Sierra Marie Quintanilla, 23, was arrested for filing a false report to a police officer after she admitted to lying about her own kidnapping on Dec. 14, 2018.

She turned herself into the Waco County Jail on Jan. 5, police said.

Quintanilla initially told officers she was taken in the 5100 block of Hawthorne and assaulted at gunpoint by an acquaintance, police said. She reported that she was able to escape to a gas station at Sanger and Lake Air. Quintanilla recanted the story to detectives and told them she lied and made the story up out of revenge, police said.

Waco police put out an alert to part of Central Texas following her allegations, which led to at least one person being stopped by police and tied up multiple officers responding to what was thought to be an actual aggravated kidnapping, police said.

Quintanilla is charged with making a false report.
