A new survey from the American Automobile Association for Traffic Safety found many Americans feel driving while high is not too dangerous.

The survey found more than 13% of Americans see driving shortly (within one hour) after using marijuana as "not dangerous at all" or only "slightly dangerous."

Respondents considered holding and talking on cellphones more dangerous than driving under the influence of marijuana.

Almost 80% of respondents considered holding and talking on cellphones "very dangerous" or "extremely dangerous" compared to 70% who felt driving shortly after using marijuana fell into the same categories.

More than 7% of respondents personally approved of driving shortly after using the drug.

More than 68% of respondents said a driver high on weed is unlikely to be caught by police.

Nationally, 14.8 million drivers report getting behind the wheel less than an hour after using the drug.

AAA asked that drivers avoid the roads while under the influence of any drug or alcohol to keep the public safe and avoid being arrested.
