BRYAN, Texas - More than 100 people gathered in Bryan Friday evening to remember Fabian Guerrero and his unborn son. Both died at the hands of an alleged drunk driver on Tuesday.

Guerrero and his wife, Kristian, were traveling through San Marcos when the crash happened.

Tears could be seen as family, friends and others in the community gathered to remember lives that were taken too soon.

"He was a great soccer player but he was way more than that," said Jessica Guerrero, a family member. "He was hardworking, he was humble, he was kind, he put his family first, his wife first."

Fabian's wife, Kristian, was always by his side. She survived the crash but Fabian and their unborn son, who was also named after his father, did not.

"It gives us a lot of comfort to know that he has Fabian with him, his baby with him," said Guerrero. "We know that there would be nobody that could love and care for him like he would have. He would have been an amazing father."

Kristian Guerrero is still recovering in the hospital but she was able to join the vigil through FaceTime. She spoke to the crowd and thanked them for their support.

"It means so much to us and I know he's so happy with our baby boy right now looking at every one of you," she said.

A GoFundMe has been set up for the Guerrero family to help them with their funeral and medical expenses.
