2nd-ranked Lady Bears dominate West Virginia

The win is Baylor's seventh straight.

WACO, Texas — Close at the start, youth propelled No. 2 Baylor to an enormous Big 12 win Sunday.

The Lady Bears pummeled West Virginia 79-47 at the Ferrell Center in Waco on Sunday to start Big 12 play 5-0.

Freshmen post duo NaLyssa Smith and Queen Egbo combined for 21 points and 14 rebounds, each scoring in double figures, in the win.  Kalani Brown led BU with 17 points and five rebounds.

Up just five after the first quarter, Baylor's defense stifled the Mountaineers, holding WVU to just nine points in the second frame while scoring 27 and sparking the route.

Juicy Landrum and Lauren Cox also scored in double figures with 13 each, while Chloe Jackson finished with 10 assists.

The win pushes Baylor to 15-1, with the lone loss coming in December at Stanford, a team ranked sixth Sunday.

Next up for Baylor, No. 18 Iowa State visits Waco at 7 p.m. Wednesday.
