WACO, Texas — The Baylor Bears snapped a two-game losing streak with their 59-53 win over Oklahoma on Monday night at the Ferrell Center.
Makai Mason was back in the starting line-up for Baylor after missing Saturday's game against Kansas State with a toe injury. Senior King McClure missed his second straight game with a knee injury. He is currently listed as day-to-day.
Baylor and Oklahoma kept things close all night: the game was tied seven times and there were seven lead changes.
Devonte Bandoo had a game high 19 points off the bench for the Bears. Jared Butler was the only other Bear in double figures with 11.
Two free throws by Mark Vital gave the Bears the 55-51 lead with 2:34 to play. The Sooners would cut it to 55-53, but a clutch putback by Freddie Gillespie with :36 seconds left extended the Baylor lead to 57-53.
Two free throws from Mason sealed the deal for Baylor.
The Bears have now won three straight against Oklahoma, matching its longest winning streak in series history.
Baylor will be back in action on Saturday against Texas Tech in Lubbock at 1 p.m.
