Baylor senior wide receiver Jalen Hurd will miss the Texas Bowl, a Baylor official has confirmed.

Hurd underwent a minor procedure on his knee Tuesday. He is hopeful to be ready for the Senior Bowl.

The senior injured his knee in the regular season finale against Texas Tech, but continued to play. The Bears became bowl eligible with the win over the Red Raiders.

Hurd was named the Big 12 Newcomer of the Year last week.

After transferring from Tennessee and sitting out last season, Hurd led the Bears with 69 receptions and 946 yards in the regular season. He also caught four touchdowns. On the ground, he finished with 209 rushing yards and three scores.

Baylor will play Vanderbilt in the Texas Bowl on December 27 at NRG Stadium in Houston.
