FORT WORTH, Texas — Add another preseason award for Baylor junior quarterback Charlie Brewer.
Brewer was named to the Dave O'Brien Award watch list Wednesday, one of 30 QB's nationwide and the first Bear since Seth Russell in 2016.
The 2017 Big 12 Co-Freshman of the Year started 12 of 13 games as a sophomore in 2018, throwing for 3,019 yards and 19 touchdowns with just nine interceptions.
Brewer has 11 career 200+ passing-yard games, tied for seventh-most in program history. He is the fifth player in program history with six or more 300+ passing-yard games, and his seven career rushing touchdowns ranks eighth in Baylor QB history.
Brewer is one of four Big 12 QB's named to the list and one of nine juniors.
The award goes to the nation's top collegiate quarterback annually and will be awarded Dec. 12 in Atlanta. This season will be the 13th in which the award will take a fan vote into account.
