Longtime China Spring head football coach Mark Bell retires, will stay on as AD

After 21 years as China Spring's head coach, Mark Bell is retiring.

Bell announced today that he is stepping down as head football coach but will stay on as Athletic Director. His son and current offensive coordinator Brian Bell will take over as head coach.

Mark Bell finishes with a 171-79 record at China Spring. He led the Cougars to the playoffs 18 out of his 21 years. Bell's overall coaching record is 210-105-1. Bell also coached at Killeen, Clifton, Rosebud-Lott and Lampasas before coming to China Spring.

The Cougars' new head coach, Brian Bell played quarterback for China Spring and went on to play QB at Sam Houston State University.
