MCGREGOR, Texas — After being placed on administrative leave in January, McGregor head football coach and athletic director Judd Thrash may did not learn his fate on Thursday.
McGregor Independent School District held a regular school board meeting on Feb. 14. According to the agenda, the board considered and discussed the investigative report related to issues within the athletic department, including consultation with the legal counsel.
McGregor superintendent James Lenamon sent the following statement to KCEN Channel 6:
At the meeting this evening, the board took no action related to the ongoing investigation being conducted by the district's legal counsel regarding the athletic department. In addition, the board took no action related to the athletic director's employment. Because the investigation is ongoing and it and the contract involve personnel issues, I am not at liberty to provide further details at this time.
On Jan. 17, McGregor ISD held a school board meeting where it went into closed session to "discuss the employment of the head football coach/athletic director," according to the minutes from the meeting.
After the meeting's closed session, Superintendent James Lenamon recommended that McGregor ISD's legal counsel should investigate issues within the athletic department.
The motion passed unanimously.
Thrash took over the Bulldog program in March of 2017. He has a 10-11 record with one playoff appearance.
