No. 1 UMHB rolls in first test of 2019

The Crusaders are now 5-0, having won 20 straight games.

BELTON, Texas — The top-ranked Cru are still rolling.

No. 1 UMHB beat East Texas Baptist, 50-14, at Crusader Stadium in Belton on Saturday.

The win was UMHB's 20th in a row, dating back to the start of the Cru's 2018 national championship run. It was also UMHB's first game since the NCAA vacated the school's 2016 national championship.

The Crusaders trailed 7-0 following an ETBU answer upon intercepting Jase Hammack on the opening drive, however UHMB then scored 23 unanswered points and shut the Tiger offense out in the second half.

Next, the Cru hit the road for a short trip. UMHB will face Southwestern at Birkelbach Field at the Georgetown ISD Athletic Complex. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m.
