No. 12/15 Baylor completes first 4-game sweep since 2011

Baylor beat Holy Cross on Sunday to complete the historic feat.

WACO, Texas — The last time Baylor's baseball team accomplished a four-game sweep, Richie Cunningham was a freshman in high school.

The Bears' oldest player was a redshirt senior as Baylor completed the program's first four-game sweep since 2011 with a 6-1 win over Holy Cross Sunday.

Baylor, ranked as high as 12th in the various national polls, started the scoring with a pair of runs in the fourth inning and never looked back.

Baylor starting pitcher Anderson Needham finished the afternoon with six strikeouts in 4.2 innings pitched and was credited with the Crusaders' lone run, but Ryan Leckich earned the win, allowing only one hit and recording two K's in 2.1 IP.

The first run came from Davion Downey on a single to left field from Cole Haring, the former McLennan Community College Highlander.

Next, the 4-0 Bears travel to San Marcos for a match up against Texas State Tuesday.

First pitch is set for 6 p.m., before Cornell visits for a three-game series over the weekend.
