Two Former Big 12 Standouts Selected for MLB All-Star Game

Baylor’s Max Muncy and West Virginia’s John Means will play in Tuesday's All-Star game

CLEVELAND — A pair of former Big 12 baseball student-athletes will participate in the 2019 Major League Baseball All-Star Game on Tuesday, July 9, in Cleveland, Ohio.

Baylor’s Max Muncy will represent the Los Angeles Dodgers as a reserve first baseman on the National League squad. Muncy, a two-time All-Big 12 performer, replaced Washington’s Anthony Rendon on the roster.

West Virginia’s John Means is the lone Baltimore Oriole on the roster and will pitch for the American League. The left-handed pitcher was All-Big 12 Honorable Mention in 2014.

Tuesday’s game is set for a 6:30 p.m. CT/7:30 p.m. ET first pitch on FOX.
