Killeen motorcyclist dies three days after crash involving Mercedes

Police have not released the status of the cyclist's passenger at this time.

KILLEEN, Texas — Editor's Note | Video above and below are past segments on the 11th annual Do You See Me Now? Motorcycle Safety & Awareness Ride Of Central Texas.

Motorcyclist Coy Caleb Morris, 21, died after being struck by a vehicle Friday evening, according to Killeen Police Department.

Police were called to the intersection of West Veterans Memorial Boulevard and Stringer Street on June 10 around 9:33 p.m. in response to a call about a motorcycle and car crash, according to Killeen police.

Witnesses say a black Honda Motorcycle was traveling eastbound in the inside lane in the 700 block of Veterans Memorial Boulevard, according to Killeen PD. The black Mercedes failed to yield right of way when turning left onto Stringer Street. This caused the motorcycle to collide with the Mercedes' front end.

The motorbike driver and his passenger were thrown from the bike and came to a stop on the road, as stated by Killeen PD. Both the biker and his passenger were taken to a local hospital, three days later Coy Caleb Morris, the motorcyclist died of his injuries.

The status of the passenger is unknown at this time. 

Police are still investigating the crash, 6 News will update when more information is available.
