Identified | Motorcyclist dies after weekend crash in Waco

Police were called out to the 2500 block of Franklin Avenue around 9:30 p.m. on Sunday regarding a vehicle vs. motorcycle crash.

WACO, Texas — A motorcyclist is dead after he was reportedly struck by a vehicle in Waco over the weekend, the Waco Police Department said.

Police were called out to the 2500 block of Franklin Avenue around 9:30 p.m. on Sunday regarding a vehicle vs. motorcycle crash.

When police arrived, they saw medical responders were giving medical attention to the motorcyclist, later identified as  36-year-old Mark Anthony Roberts, who was involved. Roberts was then taken to the hospital where he later died, police said. 

Upon investigating, police learned a Pontiac sedan was traveling westbound on Franklin Avenue and was trying to turn into a Stripes parking lot. While turning, Roberts, traveling eastbound, tried to avoid the sedan but was still struck, causing fatal injuries.

According to police, Roberts was in Waco from out of state and his family has been located and notified. At this time, no charges were filed.
