BELTON, Texas — A driver was injured and at least one cow was killed after an 18-wheeler transporting livestock overturned on the southbound side of Interstate 35 near the Bell County Expo Center Thursday morning, according to the Belton Police Department.
Police responded to the scene a little after 7:30 a.m. The accident caused the southbound lanes of I-35 to be shut down for a few hours. Before noon, it was reopened.
Onlookers say they saw authorities overturn the vehicle, as well as haul off several live cattle.
The cause of the accident isn't known at this time.
No other information was released.
