TEMPLE, Texas — Flash flood warnings were issued for much of Central Texas Thursday.

According to the National Weather Service, Navarro, Lampasas, Coryell, Bell, McLennan, Falls, Limestone, Milam and Robertson counties are under a flash flood watch from Friday afternoon until Saturday morning.

The cities of Canton, Grand Saline, Wills Point, Van, Edgewood, Athens, Gun Barrel City, Corsicana, Teague, Fairfield, Wortham, Palestine, Lampasas, Copperas Cove, Gatesville, Killeen, Temple, Fort Hood, Waco, Marlin, Mexia, Groesbeck, Buffalo, Centerville, Jewett, Normangee, Oakwood, Cameron, Rockdale, Hearne, Franklin, and Calvert are affected by the watch.

Three to five inches of rainfall is possible with the heaviest of rain falling Friday afternoon in the evening.

A flood watch means that conditions are favorable for heavy rain, which may lead to flooding of low lying areas.
