Saturday Night: A few clouds. Low: 75.
Sunday: Not as hot but humid with p.m. storms, strong to severe. High: 89.

The big story this weekend is the heat and humidity.  Expect high temperatures in the mid to low 90s Saturday. We very well may break the current record at Reagan National Airport which is 95 degrees. We are forecasting 96 degrees.

Detailed Forecast:
Saturday: Partly cloudy and hot. A stray PM storm. Highs: 93 - 98. Winds: SSW 10.
Saturday Night: Partly cloudy. Lows: 68 - 75. Winds: SW 10.
Sunday: Not as hot but humid with p.m. strong to severe storms. Highs: 85 - 90.
Sunday Night: Cloudy with a few storms before 9 a.m., then a few showers. Lows: 55-61. Winds Southwest changing to northwest 5-10 mph.
Monday: Much cooler, mostly cloudy. Highs: 70 - 75.

Long Range Forecast:

The heat wave should continue Sunday with temperatures expected in the low 90s. Most of Sunday will be dry, but ahead of a cold front later in the day we'll see showers and thunderstorms develop. Given the amount of heat, humidity and instability in the atmosphere, a few storms could become strong and possibly severe.

Some showers will linger into Monday with otherwise cloudy skies and MUCH cooler temperatures. We'll drop about 20 degrees into the low to mid  70s for high temperatures Monday.

Expect clouds to hang around Tuesday.  There will be plenty of dry hours on Tuesday with only a stray shower possible.  Highs return to the 80s by the end of the the week showers and a few storms.

Extended Outlook:

Tuesday: Mostly cloudy, an isolated shower. Highs: 70 - 75.
Wednesday: Increasing clouds. Highs: 70s.
Thursday: Cloudy with a chance for showers and isolated storms. Highs: 79-84.
Friday:  A chance for rain with a few isolated storms. Highs: 77-81.
