'Every little thing will help' | How you can help support tornado survivors in North Texas

Victims are turning to other Texans to help them get back on their feet as they start to recover from Friday's severe weather.

TEXAS, USA — As Texans and Oklahomans begin to recover from Friday's storms and tornadoes, some are calling on the public to help them get back on their feet.

Below is a list of ways to help North Texans, including GoFundMe pages that were verified by the platform. This list will be updated when we're notified of other resources.

Powderly family in recovery

A woman in The Colony started a GoFundMe page for a family she says "lost everything" in the tornado on Friday.

"They have 3 children at home and their future is very uncertain right now. No one can prepare for this kind of tragedy," Sheila posted on the page.

You can donate to the family here.

"I survived the Powderly tornado"

Lori said she and her family just moved into their house about a week before a tornado ruined it. According to her GoFundMe page, she's currently talking to her insurance company and Red Cross.

Lori's asking for donations to help her family recover and find a place to say.

Sulphur Springs family in recovery

A woman in Sulphur Springs launched a GoFundMe for a family in her community. Halee is collecting the donations in hopes of writing a check to give to the family.

"These funds will help them with clothes, food, and all the necessities over the next several months to come as they rebuild their lives… they have enough stress on their plates to need to worry about going back to work first thing Monday morning," she wrote.

Oklahoma "She Shed" retirement home destroyed

A woman from Denton started a GoFundMe page to help a family friend rebuild the shed she planned to live in after retiring.

Lindsay says Cindy (also known as "MiMi") put her life savings into her "She Shed" and insurance, according to Lindsay, "won't even begin to replace it."
