Power restored to thousands after Central Texas ice storm

At the peak, nearly 14,000 people lost power just in Bell County alone.

BELL COUNTY, Texas — Power was restored to most people in Central Texas as of Monday morning, according to the Oncor outage map.

Bell County saw the most overall outages due damage from the winter storm that rolled into Central Texas on Jan. 30. Several residents reported downed trees and downed power lines due to ice.

Oncor posted to Twitter and said its front-line workers were working around the clock in the most impacted areas to quickly restore power.

For those who lost power in Temple, Impact Temple on East Adams Ave. was opened as a warming center.
