Waco police identify 19-year-old man as victim of Parkwood Street shooting

The department identified Ryan Abbott, 19, as the victim of a Tuesday afternoon shooting.

WACO, Texas — The Waco Police Department identified 19-year-old Ryan Abbott of Waco as the victim of an April 20 shooting at a home on Parkwood Street in Waco.

Waco police officers were sent to the 3800 block of Parkwood Street just before 3 p.m. Tuesday, April 20. They first officers on scene reportedly found a man, later identified as Abbott, with multiple gunshot wounds in the 3600 block of Bosque Boulevard, police said.

Abbott was taken to the hospital were he later died.

Further investigation into the shooting led officers to believe that Abbott was involved in the shooting a block away on Parkwood, police said. Officers also went to a home on Parkwood where they found another person involved in the shooting, who said the shooting happened in the home. 

Police added that the person has been cooperative with officers and detectives. Officials said they are confident the shooting was isolated and continue to work to find the cause of the shooting.
