One of the Twin Peaks Bikers who had his case dropped Wednesday by McLennan County's District Attorney is speaking out about the end of his three year ordeal.

Owen Bartlett said it's been a rough road for him, but the fight won't be over until more bikers are cleared of wrongdoing.

It’s still hard to talk about but, when Bartlett went to Twin Peaks three years ago he never thought a deadly shootout would break out, or he’d end up in jail because of it.

"When the first shots went off I just kind of stood there. I wasn’t sure what it was,” said Bartlett.

A weight was lifted off his shoulders after his wife told him that his case had been refused on Wednesday by District Attorney Abel Reyna.

"She goes your stuff's done,” said Bartlett. “I was dumbfounded, happy, excited, and wondering who else was on that list,”

Bartlett said Twin Peaks has been like a dark cloud looming over him and because of it, at times he's been discriminated against.

"When I first got out of jail you can tell, people were like that’s one of those guys,” said Bartlett. “I had a hard time going into restaurants and busy places."

He said the ordeal has been a rough patch in his life.

"It is behind us now. Hopefully my family will be able to move on, but it’s not over,” said Bartlett.

Bartlett did file a civil rights lawsuit in 2016 against District Attorney Abel Reyna and Brent Stroman who was Waco's Police Chief at the time and others. The outcome of that lawsuit has not been determined.
