MOTHER'S DAY: Another mostly pleasant day is in store for us to kick off Mother's Day weekend. Temperatures should, once again, top out in the upper 70's and lower 80's with a light northeasterly breeze. Expect partly cloudy conditions for most of the day. As we head into the afternoon hours, our rain chances will be on the rise, but we still only expect scattered showers and thunderstorms for tomorrow. Overall, expect about a 30% coverage through the late afternoon and evening hours. More widespread rainfall will move in for the back half of the weekend. More on that below.

EXTENDED: Unfortunately, it looks like Mother's Day is going to be a wet one. As we head through the morning hours and into the afternoon, rain coverage will be on the rise. Best coverage will be in the afternoon, when about 80% of us could see measurable rainfall. Some of the thunderstorms that move through could be on the stronger side, with small hail up to 1" possible. Rain chances will continue through the night and into Monday morning as well. Totals could be in the neighborhood of 1-2". A minor flooding threat will need to be monitored, due, partially, to everything already being saturated. Stronger thunderstorms are possible Monday, before we get a break on Tuesday. After that brief break, another chance for storms, some of which could be strong, moves back into the forecast Wednesday and Thursday. Temperatures will be in the mid 70's Sunday, but will warm back into the mid-80's as we head through next week.
