'This is what the community wants' | Bruceville-Eddy couple opening drive-in movie theater for Central Texans

Grab your friends and family because the grand opening of C&C Drive-In Theater is Friday, Nov. 17!

BRUCEVILLE-EDDY, Texas — This article has been updated with new information on pricing

Grab your popcorn and fasten your seatbelts, a new drive-in movie theater is making its way to Central Texas!

C&C Drive-In Theater will be located in Bruceville-Eddy and will have its opening night on Friday, Nov. 17.

Pamela Carroll Cervantes and her husband Julian Cervantes are the two people behind it all. They moved to the area in 2019, and according to them, quickly realized there wasn't much to do.

"I see a lot of the residents in the community, and that's what they're complaining about," Pamela Cervantes said. "There's nothing to do here. We have to take our children all the way to San Antonio to the Riverwalk. We have to go all the way to Fort Worth or Dallas. We have to go to downtown Waco."

That's when Cervantes posted on Facebook about potentially starting a drive-in movie theater. She didn't realize it would soon become a reality.

"I did it late at night," Cervantes said. "I woke up the next morning, the post had been shared 285 times. At that point, I had no choice but to put in a drive-in movie theater."

It was a choice Cervantes was excited about because she loves giving back to the community.

"We're here to make them happy," Cervantes said. "We're here to give them what they need, what they want and do whatever we can to make this a better place in a better little town."

Pamela's husband Julian, who has a construction company based out of Dallas, brought workers to their property and got to work shortly after the post.

"This is what the community wants, and we're going to cram and we're going to get it done," Pamela Cervantes said.

Now, C&C Drive-In Theater will open its gates on Nov. 17!

The theater will be located at 2355 N Old Bruceville Rd. and will be open on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.

Gates open at 6 p.m. and movies start at 7 p.m.

They plan to show classic movies like Elf.

Cervantes recently updated her pricing on Nov. 17.

Admission is now $15 for car loads of four or less.

It is $20 for car loads of five or more.

C&C Drive-In will also have all the classic treats you can imagine, from hot cocoa to snow cones and more.

"We will have the box candies with the goobers and the peanuts and the gummy bears and the sharks and the nerds and all of that," said Cervantes. "We'll have theater popcorn available. We'll also have some children's plates, chicken nuggets and french fries, corndog and french fries, hamburger and french fries, hotdogs and french fries. Those plates are also available for adults. We'll also have nachos."

The couple says this would not be possible without God.

"All praise goes to God because this idea came out of nowhere," said Cervantes.

If the theater is successful, the family said they hope to open up a skating rink and zip line.
