Nicole Shearin is a multi-skilled journalist at KCEN-TV in Temple, Texas, specializing in sports and news reporting.

Nicole joined the 6 News team in July 2022 after graduating from the University of Southern California. There, she earned a master’s degree with an emphasis in sports broadcasting from the Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism.

At USC, as sports director and sports anchor, Nicole reported on Trojan football and traveled to Las Vegas to cover the Pac-12 men’s basketball tournament.

Nicole earned her undergraduate degree in 2020 from the University of Georgia. A diehard Dawg fan, you could always find her on a football Saturday “Between the Hedges” at Sanford Stadium. Of course, in 2022 she was in the house at Lucas Oil Stadium to witness the Dawgs take down the Tide for a National Championship.

Nicole’s Friday nights at UGA were spent sideline reporting on Morgan County High School football. She also covered the LA Rams Super Bowl Media Day in Atlanta as an anchor for the student-run newscast.

Born and raised in Manhattan Beach, Calif., Nicole grew up playing every sport you could think of.

When Nicole is not working, you can find her trying the hottest new restaurant in town or seeking a shot of adrenaline: bungee jumping, skydiving or something new she hasn’t tried yet.

All of her relatives, including her parents, are from the South, so the move to Central Texas just felt right.

Nicole is more than thrilled to share your stories! Please contact her at nshearin@kcentv.com or follow her on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook.
