KILLEEN, Texas — 36 family members of fallen military servicemembers boarded a plane at the Killeen Regional Airport the first week of December, on their way to a special trip.
The Gary Sinise Foundation honored the Gold Star family members with a send-off celebration before they embarked on an all-expenses-paid trip to Disney World.
Staff and volunteers were joined by the Patriot Guard Riders and Go Team Therapy Dogs as they gave the families a festive farewell.
The Gary Sinise Foundation's Snowball Express serves surviving family members of fallen servicemembers, providing them with support and year-round programming, helping them make new memories and connecting them with other Gold Star families around the world.
The Killeen Regional Airport thanked all of the staff and volunteers who donated their time and helped to make the event possible.
