KILLEEN, Texas — Big Chicken, the chicken restaurant concept founded by basketball legend Shaquille O'Neal, is set to open its first Central Texas location in Killeen.
This development is part of a three-unit deal, and the Killeen restaurant is expected to open its doors at 2100 Clear Creek Road in early 2024.
Jace Mattinson, an entrepreneur with experience in the franchise industry, will be the leader of Big Chicken in Killeen. Mattinson brings a wealth of knowledge from his successful operation of Crumbl Cookies in Austin, combined with his financial expertise from executive roles in major accounting firms.
"From the moment the ink dried on our agreement with Big Chicken, we've been overwhelmed with excitement and anticipation around the opening of our first restaurant," said Mattinson. "We're thrilled to introduce residents of Killeen to Shaquille's home-cooked favorites."
