The lottery says it's the first of four top prizes worth $1 million to be claimed in the game. There was also a South Texas resident who claimed $1 million on Monday after buying a scratch ticket for a different game at H-E-B.

There must be something about October because it's been a lucky month for several Texans.

Ticket sold in Texas wins Mega Millions jackpot

While all eyes were focused on the massive Powerball jackpot, someone in San Angelo won the Mega Millions jackpot.

The winning ticket worth $360 million was sold at a Stripes days before someone in California took home Powerball's $1.765 billion jackpot. There was also a pair of tickets sold in Texas that claimed $10,000, as more than 70,000 Texans won prizes in the Oct. 6 drawing.

Three Texans take home millions from Powerball

Just two days before the Mega Millions jackpot winner, three Texans took home some serious cash playing Powerball.

The Oct. 4 drawing saw two Texans win $1 million from tickets sold in Forney and Lake Worth. A third person took home $2 million from a ticket sold in San Antonio.
