Citizens invited to honor veterans at Friends of the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery Wreath Laying

In addition to the wreath laying, the ceremony will also feature guest speakers and a musical performance.

KILLEEN, Texas — The Friends of the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery and Wreaths for Vets have invited Central Texans to help them pay respects to veterans this holiday season at their Annual Wreath Laying.

The ceremony will be held at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery, located at 11463 SH-195 in Killeen, TX, at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 25.

The Friends of the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery was organized by citizens to support projects around the cemetery, including laying a holiday wreath at every grave in the cemetery each year.

This year's Wreath Laying ceremony will include guest speakers Lt. Gen Sean C. Bernabe, Commanding General of III Armored Corps and Fort Cavazos, Texas and LTG (Ret.) JT Thompson.

A special performance will be held by Texas' own Julie Hatcher Reese, an International Country Gospel Music Association Horizon award-winning singer and songwriter.

Public parking for the event will be available at the Texas A&M-Central Texas campus. Transportation from the lot will be provided by buses donated by Killeen ISD and will begin running at 8 a.m.

Wreaths for Vets is a 501(c)3 non-profit. All donations to the organization go towards wreaths, bows and other equipment. To find out how you can donate, or for more information on the organization, visit their website at this link.
