24-year-old man dies after being shot in Waco earlier this week, police say

This shooting marks the 11th homicide for Waco in 2023.

WACO, Texas — A 24-year-old man is dead after he was shot in Waco Wednesday night, marking the city's 11th homicide for the year, according to the Waco Police Department.

Officers were called out to the 1100 block of N. 6th St. just before 10 p.m. on Nov. 15. There, the found Michael Everett Jr. suffering from a severe gunshot wound, police said.

Everett was taken to a local hospital where he remained in critical condition. Everett died from his injures on Friday, Nov. 17.

At this time, police do not have any suspect information, but they ask if you have any information about this shooting to call the Waco PD at  254-750-7500.
