KEMPNER, Texas — The Kempner Police Department says that a fatal shooting left one person dead on Wednesday.
According to Kempner Police, they responded to a shots fired report in the 100 block of Orchard Street. When officials arrived, they found 19-year-old Jerry Shawn Worsham with gunshot wounds.
Worsham was pronounced dead by Lampasas County Justice of the Peace Dan Hause at the scene. There will be an autopsy done for Worsham, according to police.
Authorities say that those involved in this shooting are cooperating with authorities, and that an investigation into the events that took place is still underway to ensure whoever is responsible is held accountable.
