Temple PD: 36-year-old shooting victim identified

The alleged suspect was identified 38-year-old Britain Armstrong.

TEMPLE, Texas — The Temple Police Department identified 36-year-old Jasmine Armstrong as the woman who was shot and killed in Temple on Saturday, March 23.

The alleged suspect was identified 38-year-old Britain Armstrong.

Officers responded to the shooting around 7:55 a.m. on March 23. in the 1900 block of Broken Shoe Trail.

According to TPD, they found one victim who had been shot. The victim died at the scene.

Following the shooting, police identified Armstrong as a possible suspect and the type of vehicle he was driving. That same day, Belton police found the vehicle and after a short chase, Armstrong crashed at mile marker 324 of northbound I-35. Police discovered Armstrong had shot himself when they approached the car. 

According to Temple PD, Armstrong did not survive.
