Belton Pizza Hut employee tests positive for COVID-19, Bell County Health District says

The Bell County Health District issued an advisory because of the difficulty of identifying who came in contact with the employee.

BELTON, Texas — The Bell County Public Health District issued an advisory Friday afternoon to people who ordered food from the Belton Pizza Hut, 400 Neil St., May 4-7 after an employee who works at the restaurant tested positive for COVID-19.

"A public notice is necessary in this case because it is too difficult to assess who may have come in contact with the employee,” Bell County Public Health Director Amanda Robison-Chadwell said.

The employee was tested for COVID-19 on May 6 after leaving work sick.

The Health District is notifying customers who ordered from the restaurant as early as May 4 because the possibility that the employee may have been contagious before becoming symptomatic.

The test results came back positive Friday, according to the health district.

If you ordered from the business on these dates and have any concerns, please contact the Bell County Public Health District, 254-773-4457, and ask for epidemiology.

The restaurant has temporarily closed for sanitation purposes.
