Car crashes into Waco Fire Station

Police said the driver of the vehicle was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

WACO, Texas — One person has been taken to the hospital after a car crashed into a fire station in Waco on Monday, Dec. 11, said the Waco Police Department.

The driver of the car was reportedly taken to the hospital for minor injuries. Authorities were called to the scene after 3 a.m. The 25th Street fire station sustained visible structural damage. 

Police said the car caught fire but was quickly put out.

There were no other injuries and no arrests have been made at this time. The 25th Street fire station is one of the department's newest stations. 

6 News spoke to Robby Bergerson of the Waco Fire Department, who said the damage to the building was specifically to the community room and a classroom. The station will be closed to the public on Dec. 11 but fire administration will still be open.
