Killeen residents, businesses to get access to Metronet's Texas Fiber Optic Network

Construction is expected to take two years.

KILLEEN, Texas — Metronet, a high-speed fiber internet provider, announced that Killeen residents and business will soon have access to its ultra-high-speed fiber optic internet following its multimillion-dollar investment.

According to Metronet, the company has begun pre-construction activities in preparation for its two-year construction project. However, the first customers are expected to be connected in Killeen by Fall of 2024.

Killeen Mayor Debbie Nash-King stated, "Killeen eagerly awaits the arrival of Metronet, heralding a new era of enhanced connectivity and competition within our community. In an age where reliable internet access is paramount, Killeen will benefit greatly, empowering our residents and businesses with the tools they need for growth and success."

Metronet says Killeen residents can expect to see the company's trucks throughout the city and they will be receiving mail about construction activity in their neighborhood 30 days before it begins.
