'Protect Mueller' protest held at Heritage Square in Waco

About 30 people showed up to a 'Protect Mueller' protest at Heritage Square in downtown Waco Thursday.

WACO, Texas — A 'Protect Mueller' protest was held at Heritage Square in downtown Waco Thursday. Hundreds of these protests supporting Special Investigator Robert Mueller went on across the country Thursday.

The outrage came after Jeff Sessions was forced to resign yesterday and was replaced with his chief of staff, a move that's raising a lot of questions.

About 30 people showed up to the protest in Waco to let out their frustration.

"We're small,we know we're outnumbered, but we're still here and we're still talking and we're still organizing," Cheryl Foster, a board member of CenTex Action Network, said.

Organizers said the event was all put together at midnight on Thursday. They also said Trump booting sessions and choosing Matt Whitaker over Rod Rosenstein as Mueller's boss risked the independence of the Russia investigation.

The protestors' goal was to demand accountability from the Trump administration and show that no one is above the law.

President Trump said there will be a new appointment at a later date.
