Sirena Fest to move from Salado to Belton, delayed until 2025

The next festival is scheduled for April 26, 2025!

BELTON, Texas — Sirena Fest, formally known as Sirena's Creekside Carnaval, announced that it will be moving its festivities from Salado to Belton's Downtown square beginning in 2025.

For those unfamiliar with the festival, it celebrates the Tonkawa Legend of Sirena. According to the legend, a magical catfish tricked Sirena into becoming a mermaid after helping her win the heart of a warrior. There is a bronze sculpture of the catfish and Sirena at Sirena Park in Salado.

According to the festival, this move to Belton is a part of an ongoing effort to grow the event.

"While we love the scenic Pace Park in Salado, we are so excited to be spreading out in Belton's downtown square. Belton city officials and the Belton Chamber of Commerce have been terrific to work with, and we are looking forward to putting on another amazing event with their support," Sirena Fest explained in a Facebook post.

Due to this change in scenery, Sirena Fest will be delayed until 2025. This will allow event planners adequate time to present the best mermaid festival to Central Texans, as well as plan for any hurdles along the way.

According to Sirena Fest, vendor registration will open in late April or early May for the next festival scheduled for April 26, 2025.
