Tornado Watch issued for parts of Central Texas

Tornado watches are issued when favorable conditions exist for tornadoes to form.

The National Weather Service's Storm Prediction Center issued a tornado watch until 10 p.m. Friday for parts of Central Texas, including McLennan, Bosque, Limestone Hill and Freestone Counties.

Here is a full list of impacted Texas counties: Anderson, Bosque, Collin, Cooke, Dallas, Delta, Denton, Ellis, Fannin, Freestone, Grayson, Henderson, Hill, Hood, Hopkins, Hunt, Johnson, Kaufman, Lamar, Limestone, Mclennan, Montague, Navarro, Parker, Rains, Rockwall, Somervell, Tarrant, Van Zandt And Wise.

A Severe Thunderstorm Warning was also issued until 6:45 p.m. for the following counties in Central Texas: Hamilton County, northwestern Coryell County, central Lampasas County, western Bosque County and southeastern Mills County. Wind gusts of roughly 65 mph and quarter-size hail are possible. Meteorologists urge those in affected areas to get inside sturdy structures and stay away from windows.
