Man arrested with $300K worth of meth in Kalamazoo

The arrest was the result of a month long investigation into the trafficking of crystal methamphetamine from California to Kalamazoo.

Investigators from the Kalamazoo Valley Enforcement Team arrested a 36-year-old Ohio man in Kalamazoo Township for drug and weapons related charges.

The arrest, on July 23, was the result of a month long investigation into the trafficking of crystal methamphetamine from California to Kalamazoo.

In early July, KVET investigators received information that a man was transporting meth into Kalamazoo County. After identifying the suspect as Buddy Randall Parker, an investigation was launched.

Investigators learned Parker was planning to transport approximately five pounds of meth from California to an address in Kalamazoo Township. He was arrested before he was able to deliver the drugs.

During the arrest, he was found to be in possession of a loaded handgun, five pounds of crystal meth, two additional handguns and a large amount of cash.

The street value of the drugs is over $300,000.

Ohio officials also searched his home and found more meth, guns and money.

Parker was arraigned Monday and is being held on a $2 million bond.
