LAS VEGAS — A man being sentenced in a Las Vegas courtroom was caught on camera jumping over a bench and attacking a judge Wednesday morning, according to CBS affiliate KLAS.
30-year-old Deobra Redden, a three-time felon, was being sentenced on a charge of attempted battery with substantial bodily harm. During the hearing, Clark District Court Judge Mary Kay Holthus stated, "I think it’s time he get a taste of something else."
That's when Redden jumped over the bench and attacked Judge Holthus.
In the video, you can see Redden leap over the bench he was behind while security guards worked to get everything under control.
Court security was able to eventually restrain Redden. Holthus and a marshal were injured in the attack.
Officials said additional charges are expected against Redden.
