Ryan Luna appointed by Governor Abbott to McLennan County's 414th Judicial District Court

AUSTIN, Texas — Governor Greg Abbott has announced the appointment of Ryan Luna to the 414th Judicial District Court in McLennan County. 

The appointment is effective today and will extend through December 31, 2024, or until a successor is elected and qualified.

Ryan Luna, a resident of Waco, currently serves as the Judge of McLennan County Court at Law No. 3.

Luna is a member of several legal and community organizations, including the State Bar of Texas, Texas Bar College, and the Texas Association of County Court at Law Judges. He is also involved with The Federalist Society, Christian Legal Society, Texas Supreme Court Historical Society, and the Judge Abner V. McCall American Inn of Court.

In addition to his legal affiliations, Luna contributes to his community through his roles on the Waco-McLennan County Bar Association Board of Directors and the Caritas of Waco Board of Directors. 

He has previously held positions as the legal clinic director at Mission Waco and as a member of the Waco Transit Advisory Board and the CareNet Pregnancy Center of Central Texas.

His background includes private practice, where he represented both plaintiffs and defendants in civil cases across state and federal courts.
