Getting Central Texas prepped, ready for the holiday hustle; Black Friday tips, tricks, deals and more

Here's all you need to know before you hit the stores and click away online.

CENTRAL, Texas — It's time to shop until you drop because Black Friday is here.

This year looks a little different with stores starting their discounts all the way back in October, but that doesn't mean you won't find some great deals today and into the weekend.

Deals to look out for in store:

Toys are expected to be 35% off while electronics are expected to be around 30% off. Apparel will also dip 25% this season.

However, the biggest deals are expected to be on kitchen gadgets, small appliances, video games and consoles and electronics. Deals will roll into the weekend with 30% off on kitchen mixers, deals on TVs at Best Buy, and a great deal on AirPods Pro.

Like many people who have found comfort in not dealing with the crowds, holiday shopping in person might not be the move for you. If you want to shop online, you need to do so safely because there are so many ways to have your information stolen as of late.

Tips for shopping online:

Whenever you're on a website, make sure there is a lock symbol in the top left of the link. This ensures you are on a secure site.

If you don't want a site collecting certain information, make sure you read the terms and conditions on that site. It's likely they will track your information, but it's up to you limit how much they see.

Another good thing to remember is to use a browser extension for coupons and deals. By doing that you are able to see when the price dips and that's when you want to make your purchase.

One of the biggest things to remember when scrolling through the internet or on social media is to never click on any ads.

"They could install malware," Katie Gallan with the Better Business Bureau.

Look for those discounts and promotions and keep an eye out for those return policies. Happy shopping!
