Bond set at $3 million for man arrested in Killeen double murder

Louis Lamar Simpson Jr., 26, is being held in the Bell County Jail on a $3 million bond for shooting and killing Deanne and Tina McGruder on Friday.

KILLEEN, Texas — On Friday, two women were reported dead by Killeen Police following a domestic violence incident. Just a few days later, authorities have charged a man involved in the incident with capital murder.

Louis Lamar Simpson Jr., 26, is being held in the Bell County Jail on a $3 million bond for shooting and killing 75-year-old Deanne McGruder and 53-year-old Tina McGruder, whose names were revealed by Killeen PD on Saturday.

Simpson's bond was set by Judge Cliff Coleman, and has been in the Bell County Jail since Sunday, according to jail records.

Police say the investigation into the matter is still ongoing. No other information was released.
