KILLEEN, Texas — *Correction: A previous version of this story said the murder happened in Killeen, but Killeen PD Chief Kimble said it happened in Harker Heights.*
A man has been arrested for a March 9 murder in Harker Heights, says the Bell County Sheriff's Department.
Tre Jean Smith, a 23-year-old man from Killeen, was taken into custody for the murder of 23-year-old Taurus Berkhart Stubbs.
Harker Heights Police say the murder took place in the 300 block of W. Veterans Memorial Blvd. on March 9, 2023. Smith was arrested a few days after on March 15.
Smith's bond was set at $1,000,000 and he was taken to the Bell County Jail, said the Sheriff's Department.
