Burn Ban lifted in Bell County by Judge David Blackburn

On Oct. 10, a burn ban was instituted after a previously instated burn ban was lifted the month prior, on Sept. 15.

BELL COUNTY, Texas — Bell County Judge David Blackburn has lifted the burn ban that was previously in place for the county.

The news comes after much-needed rain has begun to fall on Central Texas, and has even put the possibility of flash flooding into the forecast. According to the announcement from Bell County, this order is not set to expire, unlike the previous Burn Ban that was lifted in September.

In fact, weather models are predicting that over the next week, many cities will see at least an inch of rain, with some forecasted to receive more.

Despite the burn ban being lifted, Bell County residents are still required to report burns through the Burn Ban phone line at 254-933-5555. The County says the phone line informs residents of state laws about burning and prevents local fire departments from being mistakenly deployed to planned burns.
